Now fi years lader late dat februarry young massa Walker grab Ben up from work and he be takin him some wheres. He sade "Ben I got something I want to show you", so Ben he jus jumped right up in massa Walkers wagon in de back of cours tho. Massa Walker took him way out in a place Ben had never seed befo. When dey finally got out Ben said "what we doing way out here? Massa Walker with a sly ol grin just said "you'll see". Dey walked bout anuder ten minutes and all Ben seed was a growed up ground all around him. Massa Walker he sade " Ben you been saving money haven't you?" Ben said "Yes sur saved over six dollars so fur sur." Massa Walker replied saying " you know that aint enough to buy land don't ya son." Ben said "yes sur we jus gonna keep savin till it be enuf." Massa Walker said "Ben what if you had enough right now. Now you know I can't sell you a good cleared piece close to town, why white folks would skin me alive, you know that don't ya Ben?" Ben said "yes sur I knows dat." Then Massa Walker said "but I could sell you this land back here and if anyone did find out they wouldn't care it's so far away. Ben I will let you have a whole acre for 5 dollars and you will own it with a deed and everything. How does that sound to you?" "YYYEEEEHHHAAAAWWW!" Ben jumped clean up in the air. Really a place of his own!! Yes it be needin work and yes it was gonna be along ol walk to work but it would be worth it. Ben thanked massa Walker and ran back to town he had to go tell Carol Ann.
