It be in the year 1860 on da ol Walker plantation that lil Ben Walker he be born. He be born to that no good rascal Jesse Walker and Sarah that be Ben's mama they be some of the sorrowest slaves on da whole plantation. On a count of they being da sorriest ol massa Walker he keep them living pretty low even for slaves. They was the talk of the whole place. Now about the same time lil Ben be born on the plantation well along came Carol Ann Walker too. Now they wasn't no kin or nothing just all us slaves we be having the same last name as ol massa. Lil Sarah her family aint much better than lil Ben's people be. Massa about fed up with all of dem and they lucky they aint be sold.
